'18 SR5, Intermittent drivetrain sensation when stopping

Little over 17K on my 4runner, and I just started noticing this..I'll come to a stop, brakes fully applied and then after a split second, I'll feel like a slight jerk in the drivetrain. To me it feels like it's in the tranny..almost as if the tranny is delayed in shifting out of gear while I'm braked..anyone else experience this before?

Yep, well documented. There is another thread just a couple days ago on the same issue. Really, there is nothing wrong if it is slight. It is just the transmission down shifting into first. At next service point, have them check the drive shaft joints for looseness. Any loose joints will exaggerate the issue.

This. On all the truck forums I’ve been on over the years, sticking slip joints in the driveshaft are the most common cause for “bumping” or “clunking” when coming to a stop.

Try lubing them with some grease and see if that changes things.

Thanks guys. Seem like an easy fix..I should have thought of that..Coming from older Ford trucks this is a common problem..didn't expect it on the 4R..
