1988 T4 Problem

Hey guys I'm still trying to finish my 4runner but i have run into a problem when i try to rev it up slowly it hits about 1.9 RPM then it drops and it just keeps doing that until you back off. If you push the pedal down harder it will skip over and be fine. Please someone help! any suggestions will be appreciated. Also where could i get some new pipes for the radiator to heat the back?

Start by checking the TPS to make sure it's in spec.

It has to be the TPS I disconnected it and then it revved fine is there any way to clean it or should i buy a new one?

Before you replace it or soak it in nasty chemicals, ohm it out and then make sure it's calibrated correctly. The link fourwd1 posted has directions.

It is more than likely the tps. Mine does the same thing and I checked for codes the other day and the tps code came up. I will try to adjust it this weekend and let you know if that fixes it

I had the same problem. Had codes for TPS. Replaced it, all ok now.
