1990 SR5 Audio Problem

Hi,
I'm new here and have been searching for over an hour but to no avail. I need a full stereo wire diagram. I know the speakers work. I have a new head unit to instal, but the wiring is confusing as hell. I have located the battery wire, the ignition wire, earth wire, front right +/- speaker and front left +/- speaker wires. The rear speakers elude me still. I CANNOT find the correct wires. I found a toyota diagram on the site, but it does not match with the car.
Please help!
In the mean time i will go quietly insane due to not being able to wireing up 2 speakers!

Thanks, I had already tried the first link with no luck. The colours don't match up, for example i have only 1 black wire. The diagram says i should have 2... It's looking like i might have to pull it apart at the back and just look at the wires on the speakers...

My suggestion is to buy a wiring harness, it will save you sooo much hassle.

I don't know the answer to your question as I've always used harnesses for my installs and it makes it so much easier. They're not that expensive and worth their weight in gold.

So the Harness is an just a pre-made thingy that connects the wire easily?
That would be sweet. The frustrating thing abou this is that i live in a remote area. My nearest town in over and hour drive away, and well, they are appaling at haveing stuff of any kind. The nearest city is over 4hrs away too. Got any web sites that I might be able to order from ?

The wiring harness has the corresponding mating end to your factory wiring that got unplugged from the OEM headunit. Most of the time, the colors on the wiring harness will match the colors of the aftermarket headunit's pig-tail harness (the harness that plugs into the aftermaket radio). You can solder and cover the joints with heat shrink tubing (preferred) or crimp the connections. The benefits of using a harness is you can always put the OEM headunit back for whatever reasons.

Crutchfield.com should have it.

Check for Metra or Sosche dealers and online vendors. Shipping internationally could make it more expensive that the drive into town/city, not to mention the wait.

Cool, i looked them up. There is one in the US but no luck in Aust. only vintage car ones.... which sucks. Might just have to go get a prof upgrade anyways. get 6x9's in the back and 6's in the doors plus some tweeters...
