1990 wont start...HELP!!

So I bought this 1990 a few months ago...not a single prob....
dont know much about them. Just general automotive knowledge.
Out of the blue...it wont start. full power from the battery. No noise from the starter....no obvious loud clicking from any kind of selenoid (I dont even know where that is)....nothing from any relays (does it have them? where are they?)....Hell..besides the fuses on the passenger wheel well...I havent looked for or at any fuses/relays/etc. (are there more? WHERE?)
It has a strong Battery....it's just acting like no power to the starter.
HELP!!!

Remove the Battery & the Starter. Take them to your auto part store and get a free Load Test. Post the results.

The classic "click no start" usually has the sound coming from around behind the glove box.

When you turn the key to on it should start the fuel pump. I think you shouuld hear it hum, then when you turn to start it should energize the starter while keeping the fuel pump going. That's the click you hear.

Starter is in a "great" location under the engine, on the passenger side, sandwiched between the frame so hopefully you don't need to remoe it. From memory, it should have a big heavy guage wire that goes to the battery, and a ground wire to the frame. These are towards the front of the truck

There will be a 3rd wire, behind the starter, facing the rear of the truck. It goes up into the engine bay on the passenger side wheel well. It probably goes into a relay or connector of some sort. At the starter it is just a spade connector. You should be able to carefully remove it. Now get a piece of wire, solid conductor wire works best and insert it into the starter instead. The other end you will use to jumper to the positive of the battery. You could also crimp on a spade connector to it too if you prefer.

So now...with the truck in neutral, hand brake on, on flat groud, or in park, very very important, or it can run you over if it is in gear.

Turn the key to on, and use the jumper you just made to touch the positive of the battery. If it starts, adding a relay, or replacing the existing one might be the fix, and battery and starter are fine.

Alternatively, you can also verify the voltage comming out of the spade connector you removed that went to the starter. It shouldn't be much less than what the battery actually shows.

Just make sure please that the truck is not in gear when you are standing infront of it or under it and you try to jumper it. :horn:

It could also be a neutral start switch failing

Fixed!

Climbed under it...found the wire had came off.....FIXED!
