1991 4runner SR5 3.0ltV6 - First Car!

Hi everyone!

I just bought my first car which is a 91 4R V6 Auto for $2500 today. I'm really excited to start setting it up from some camping and light bush bashing after it gets a roadworthy in the next few days.

Just wondering what small mods some of you have done to your 4runners that arent too expensive?

Nice rig. Real inexpensive mod...ditch the running boards, truck will look 100% better but that's just my opinion. I always advise 2nd gen owners to put manual hubs on the front. It will save you wear and tear on your front drivetrain when in 2wd. Not sure how plentiful used parts are down under but stock Aisins are the best option. If not Mile Markers of Warns seem to do just fine. Looks like you have a nice bumper setup on her. Is there a winch mounted already?

Hey mate, yeah i think it'll also look better, so when i have time ill remove the running boards.
Naa i dont have a winch yet, can you recommend a good winch that wont wont leave my wallet empty haha?

That's one of those you get what ya pay for things but I know there are some guys here that swear by Badland Winches which are reasonable. I'm soon going to be getting a winch myself and I might just go with a Badland and see how it does. If it isn't up to the task I'll just upgrade when I can. I have a buddy that has one on his car trailer for pulling cars onto the trailer and he hasn't had any problems at all.

Ah I see then, i'll have a look at Badland winches soon.
First thing I plan to get is a pair of Nitestalker 170 spotlights and new cargo bay carpet.

Just wondering, can anybody recommend a cool switch panel that I can wire up the spotties/rear light and a few other things to? Or is it just better to DIY the switch panel? And what is the best place to install it?
