This is my first post as I just bought my 4runner a little more than a week ago. Our problem is this, we bought the 4runner for 500 knowing it had a transmission problem. My father works at a car repair centre so we have access to lifts and other things like that. Lately we have been taking a look at it and found some minor problems and fixed a few things. The main problem is that when you put the runner in drive under H2 it slips-A LOT, then under drive again in H4 it slips alot again but not quite as much. But then in 4L it drives perfectly and dosent slip. The engine runs fine and everything else seems to do fine. We also discovered two plugs on the bottom of the car near the tranny. We plugged those in as well and that made the flashing O/D light dissapear (does anyone know what those two plugs are?). We also flushed out the transmission fluid and filters. We are on a strict budget and dont want to have to replace the tranny. Any help would be appreciated!
