1995 4Runner Won't Start

I need some advice. When I turn the key I get the dash lights and one click,
but then no crank. If I hit the floor boards with a rubber mallet in just the right
place , I can turn the key and the truck starts. What do you guys think?

Starter contacts have worn down. Replace contacts, or the whole starter.

First check the wiring at the starter.
Make sure conections are clean and tight
