1997 3.4l V6 Hard Starting

I have had this car for about a month now and I would say 7 out of 10 times I have to crank it over 3 times (key on key off) to get it to start, is this normal or should it fire up with the first turning on of the key?

No, its not normal at all, it should fire up the first time you crank it. Or perhaps you have that rare anti-theft device. They figure the thief will get sick of trying to start it and steal someone elses ride, j/k. Seriously though, have you tried any fixes yet? It sounds like perhaps your starter is on the way out, or you could have some type of ignition issue, when was the last time you did plugs and wires?

I would start with having the fuel pressure checked.. its possible fuel psi is not holding.
