My car experienced a "shudder" today after starting. It went away so I considered the problem was nothing. But drove 20 miles to my city this evening and the shudder occurred while idling at a stop light, kind of continued with the shudder while accelerating at which point the engine light came on. Drove into town for a choir performance, returned home with no significant problems. However, the shudder seemed to be present while idling in my driveway. The car is an automatic, has every maintenance job performed on schedule; it does have 230,000 miles on it with no hx of previous mechanical problems.
Yes, realistically, it is time to pull out the pocket book and be prepared for mechanical repairs. Since I live on the island of Hawaii, parts are slow coming. I am hoping to get some head start on this.
The shudder feels like it originates along the driveline below the front console. I was concerned this might be a crankshaft problem, a sensor gone bad? No, I am NOT car savvy...just trying to figure out this problem. :cry2:
