Just purchased my first 4runner and was looking for some guidance. I was looking for key fobs for this rig and haven't had much luck, can anyone help with this?

I also want to service the tranny. The rig has 267k miles on it and the fluid looks a little dark. Any suggestions on what kind of fluid and if I should clean the screen?

When I turn on the fog light switch, the high beams come on....

When I open any of the four doors, the interior lights do not come on and yes the switch is on "door". When I open the back gate, the rear light comes on like it is suppose too.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Any dealer will be able to make you a keyfob... but it will cost $$

Buy transmission fluid from the dealer. Not sure if it is the type iv fluid for the 3rd gen... they will know. You'll need 12-16 quarts to do a full flush. There are write-ups. Search for transmission fluid DIY in the 3rd gen subforum.

Not sure about the high beams... check your fuses. Previous owner changed wiring?

Interior lights... did you replace the dome light bulbs? They could be burned out.

I would change out the oil, spark plugs and wires, air filter, transmission fluid (dont worry about cleaning the screen), grease the driveshaft, and replace the differential fluids/transfer case fluid...

Thanks for the reply. The bulb is good, actually just tapped on it a couple times and it started working.

The plugs, wires, timing belt, water pump, valve cover gaskets, and master cylinder have been done.
