Hey guys. Bought my first 3rd gen and they dealer I picked her up at only gave me one key. (Trade in, so assuming PO lost other key) and of course it's a copy. (Not oem key) I'm trying to use said key in the back hatch lock to roll the window down and it won't budge. The key opens all other doors and starts vehicle. Is this a result of not having oem key or is maybe the lock siezed? Window rolls down fine with interior switch. If it is the key how can I get one programmed? Thanks much!

Its not the key, I am using an aftermarket key for my truck which rolls down the back window fine.
The window does not go up with the key is the issue I have. I did remove the back hatch panel and pulled the electronics off the back of the hatch lock. I had a broken wire which a soldered back up, but it did not fix my issue.
You should remove the electronics from the lock and inspect the harness and wiring. You might have a broken wire or two back there.

There's a little mini-harness on the back of the hatch lock cylinder and the integrated electrical rotary union can go bad - in my case automagically rolling the window down in wet conditions.
It could also be a broken wire inside the rubber boot where the wiring flexes between the body and hatch when open/closing.
The window will operate with the dash/console switch if you remove the mini-harness (what I did to prevent it from rolling down on it's own).
It should not operate at all (key or dash switch) if you've got a broken wire.
