I think I'm in a mess of trouble.. I left my truck(like I always do) for 2 weeks and when I returned, The old gal wouldn't shift into 2nd. So I dropped it down and it did shift.. For the rest of the night it would go from 1st to 2nd and back with little trouble.. |Still not getting 3rd or 4th though..
The next day I was only able to get first out of her.
So, I took it to Trick-o-matic(tranny specialists) here in town and they came up with a Neutral safety switch code. I have been having an occasional starting issue for months but NEVER a Tranny issue.. He Reset the code and still no shifting..The truck only has 107k but has a heavy rust problem. Not sure if that matters..
they said in all their years they have never had a 4Runner in there and it must be something electrical. Also talked to an auto electric pro here in town and he said the same. He suggested that anybody would have to start with the error code and then start digging.. I don't want to get into that racket and I have a feeling it has nothing to do with a safety switch.
Anybody ever run into this???
