1999 4Runner issue

Hi guys I have a 1999 sr5 4x4 4runner. Lately I have noticed an issue that I can't figure out. First the idle has seemed really low almost, but not quite stalling. Also, when I accelerate quickly in the 2-3 rpm it stutters and after I get past 3 it stops stuttering, but doesn't seem to make the power it should. What do you guys think?

Thank you,
Nick

Check all normal maintenance. ..spark plugs...wires..pcv...air filter...clean MAF. Grease driveline..check oil in engine...rear end and tranny.

like kyle said. check the simple things. many times people over think things and assume the problem is, "omg my tranny is slipping" or crazy stuff like that. "omg my steering wobbles so bad" when its usually things like low on tranny fluid and bad wear on tires.

blow things outta proportion and youll never fix it.

Yeah, just like those before me, do the cheapest things first. Plugs, wires, air filter, fuel filter, etc...
I'm sure the idle speed can be adjusted separately too.

Thanks guys. I didn't know if it was a common problem with 4 runners. My dad had this vehicle before me. He said it sounded familiar, thought it was the air flow sensor. How would I clean it?
