Over on IH8MUD's 3rd Gen FAQ, there is a handy list of all the manuals for the 4Runner, and it says there are two different Owners Manuals for the 1999:

Owners Manual PROD. 10/98 & LATER OM35749U
Now, the question is, what are the differences between them? I've got an 09/98 production vehicle, and about all I can find on eBay are the ones for the later vehicles. As you might expect, I only discovered this issue after buying one, so here I am with the wrong manual coming.
What is interesting is that Toyota appears to be a bit schizophrenic itself; the online version is the OM35749U one, and the printed one for sale from Helminc is the OM35730U version. No note is made on their site as to the IH8MUD info about the production dates, so how big a deal is this? Specifically, what changed after 09/98 to warrant a new manual?
