1999 steering wheel air bag cover

The steering wheel in my 1999, SR-5, is OK; but, the pebble grain is completely worn off the horn/air bag cover.
How big hassle is it to replace the steering wheel airbag cover?
Is that part available for a 1999 SR-5?

Any special cautions about accidentally triggering the airbag?

just disconnect your battery for at least 10 minutes but there is no cover its the whole airbag assembly your going to need to replace if you want to change it out
theres only 2 screws but there hex keys
google 3rd gen steering wheel spiral cable replacement and theres a good write up with the steps your gonna have to do

Giovanni23--I do not want to buy a new airbag just to get the cover---to many $$$$.
The street hoods pull airbags out all the time and never have one go off---but I will pass for now. Thank you for your answer.
