1999 trade for 4th gen

I have a 1999 Toyota 4runner limited that I would like to trade for a 4th gen 4runner. Prefferably a sport model but I will entertain any offers. My runner has just over 160 k miles, 4x4, white, and is very clean. There are two kc fog lights mounted to the front bumper also. I live in Owensboro, KY so you have to be relitively close. I really don't want to sell it. I don't even want to get rid of it, but the 4th gens are starting to grow on me more than expected so I'm just looking to trade. Thanks anyway.

I was curious as well. It will probably be difficult to find someone that wants to "downgrade" unless you throw in enough cash to offset the discrepancy in values and at that point, it would probably be cheaper and easier to sell yours and buy a 4th gen. You have a clean truck and it would sell easily.
 
Personally I don't believe it would be "downgrading." Yes it is an older model but I really haven't seen many my year model that look as new as mine does. I got really lucky finding someone who took care of it like they did. Sure kelley blue book and nada disagrees but I'm sure someone else with a 4th gen who likes 3rd gens better will agree with me. If I find someone who does then I'll trade but if not Ill keep mine. Which I have no problem with.

um.........i was........well.........the thing is.......it's a...........:smashputer: :frusty:

I own every generation and ALL of mine are clean even my 1986 (literally not even a crease in the seat or crack on the inside) but forget about the generation, even from a a 2003+ to a 1999 is a downgrade.. a 160k clean 3rd gen is not rare AT ALL. there is probably 40 of them on this board alone.

if you really want a 4th (and i do highly recommend it) sell your third and buy a 4th. If someone really does not like the 4th they own, and they have any amount of commonsense, they will sell their 4th gen for 11-15k and go buy a nice clean 3rd gen with low miles for 5-8k and stick the few extra thousand into 3rd gen mods.
 
TOY2G- I'm just seeing if anyone out there wants to. You never know with some people so I thought I would try it out. I mean..now its pointless bc they are going to read your comment and go duhh but it WAS worth a try.

^^^^ so you are saying you were hoping to catch someone dumb enough to go for it on this forum....and you may have gotten away with it if it weren't for my post???

I can assure you, it will not be my comment that would prevent someone from making this decision...it would be far more likely, someone with anything higher than a 6th grade education is the owner of the 4th gen and that alone will prevent you from fulfilling your desire (read scam)

And for what its worth.... Your 4runner really does look nice, from what I can see...

Damn guys give the dude a break. I had a guy in a 4x4 4th gen ask me if I wanted to trade my 2WD 3rd gen a few years ago now. Likely no, but not unheard of. That guy really didn't like his 4th gen and missed his 3rd. Sure he found what he was looking for.
 
Wish this post was this year lol I love the third and 5th gen... I have a 4th with the same amount of miles and would gladly have traded
