199mm TBU Query

Hi folks,

I have searched this and other forums for the answer to this, so if your search powers exceed mine and you have a link, please share.

The truck I am going to be working on has these Enkei rims. photo | Flickr - Photo Sharing! These were on it new from the lot. Ugly as all get out I know. Kind of rare from what I gather but, nonetheless on my incoming ride. They are 15's.

Does anyone know that these rims will definitely work with the 199mm TBU? If not, what do I need to measure inside the rim to determine compatibility? As far as I can tell, all 01 Tundra wheels were 16".

If anyone feels like pushing me off my indecision cliff, I am weighing the purchase of some 16's that I know will fit the 231mm TBU. Just having a hard time committing to the $'s.

Thanks,

KG

well 24 views and no response - i'll take a stab. I was under the impression that NO 15" would fit the tundra calipers, which is why they all came with 16" wheels and up. I don't know this to definitely be true.

I believe that you are going to need some spacers to run those....

16" 6 spoke wheels can be had for nothing now - there are three sets on my local CL. Those will easily clear the 199 upgrade (I did it to my truck last week).

16" stock 3 split spokes fit the 199mm and 16" stock 5 stars fit the 231mm's.

Thanks to all. I have officially been pushed off the "buy new rims" cliff. I really wanted the 231mm TBU anyway. I found a guy on craiglist that has a full set 16" five stars w/ less than 10k miles, so says he, for a good price or best offer price. Figure to take them to a wheel and tire shop b4 buying to check for probs.

Will def update as aquisition and mods begin.

Peace,

KG
