1st 4Runner

Purchased my first 4Runner 7 days ago. She is a 2017 Offroad Premium. Not my first Toyota, but all others were not as fun/full of promise.

It will be my family hauler/daily driver/mtb transporter/camping travel device/kayak deliverer.

While I plan on doing some mods, it will not be something drastic (famous last words).

Loving the forum. Full of good information. It has already cost me some $$.

Nice rig man! love the wheels. My dealer didn't even have them in stock when I was there, but I'm kinda liking the trail wheels. Welcome to the forum!

Thanks. Running boards removed and front/rear valance received some Rust Oleum bedliner love.

Now to save my pennies for rock sliders and skids.

That's a slick beast!!

I am in the market for my first 4R and have been going back and forth between SR5 and the TRD Off-Road (Trail) w/KDSS. I am not going to hop right into tech trails, but want the capabilities if I become inclined to in the future. Where I really see the KDSS being of use is on the roads; reducing sway after a 2-3" lift.

What were some of your considerations when buying? I wrote this assuming that yours has KDSS. If not, still really welcome your thoughts. I just don't want to try and pinch $2k and later wish I hadn't.

Cheers on the new rig and happy trailing. Look forward to hearing any and all feedback!!
