1st gen owner seeks opinion on 2nd gen.

Ok guys need to know what you think of this, i know im supposed to ask if the head gasket was done by dealer under recall.
but this just feels a little high to me.

Yeah, it does sound a little high, but not outrageously so. Given the description, there's obviously a rust issue ("no big holes" probably means plenty of surface rust, especially underneath). The miles are good--159k leaves plenty of life left. The auto tranny is less desirable from those years. I'd look it over REALLY carefully before making a commitment, and definitely insist on a lower price...stay detached, and be willing to walk away if they won't budge. Best of luck!

I have no experience with it; the 3.0, but based on the mass Toyota societal opinion of it, I would not buy one.(no offense to any, its a Toyota afterall ) Unless I was cash on hand ready to upgrade powerplants.
3g seems a touch high, yes. I got a much better deal on my 87 and I paid more, patience will be key here, mate.Happy hunting

The average here in Colorado is about $2000 to $2500 for a 2nd gen and many of those are rust free.

Thats a little high, but not to bad if its a nice vehicle. I like bucknuts advice about being able to walk away. I wouldn't worry about the 3.0, just the auto tranny. But test drive it and if the power feels ok then dont worry about it.
