1st time cleaning

I just got my new 4runner and I want to start off on the right foot as far as cleaning it. When I picked it up the dealer had put a sealant on it. Where do I go from here? I am looking at Meguiars synthetic car wash and synthetic wax. Should I wash first and then do polish and then wax? Just looking for suggestions to keep the paint looking new. And does anyone have any opinions on Boars hair brush for washing? What is best for a wash mitt or scrub brush? Thanks for all the help.

Well first off, if the dealer applied a good sealant, the paint should be protected for awhile. But if you are anything like me and just like the look of a freshly waxed car, this would be my process. First I'd get a good wash mit and keep it clean. I've been known to throw away a mit that fell on the ground! Meguiars gold class car wash is pretty good stuff. Then, since time is in short supply anymore, I wash the vehicle, and wax one section at a time. I break it down so that each section gets done about once a month (wash and wax every week, waxing one section following each wash). Eg. driver side, hood and gate, passenger side then roof. This way you always have wax on it and it doesn't take your entire day up! When I need to shine the whole thing up at one time, I turn to my quicky backup The Wax Shop Super Glaze HD! Easy to apply and remove but does not last very long. Anyway this should keep the vehicle in awesome shape!!! Enjoy!
