1st time getting muddy

So got a little brave and dove the 4runner pretty damn hard into a hole in which i was sure the front end was smashed in. Im proud of my baby since i cant see any damage and she drives fine still. Only thing was that the sway bar links up front twisted in some odd way. Should I undo the links next time i go off road im guessing for flex and not to wear the links out? They click a lot when i drive but when i tighten the bolts there fine till they get lose again.

my sway bar links were twisted in an odd way too, they were like both angled in to the extreme. I am not sure what caused this. They were completely shot, so i replaced them.

I'm lifted and running no front sway bar currently since I busted one of my front links a month or so ago. I say take it off. There is a little bit more body roll going into corners, but it's totally manageable. After all, these are SUV's and not race cars.

You may just need a new set of links...how old are the ones you have? I never undo mine off-road, and haven't had any problems yet.

And it sucks too..you'll be finding mud for months in places you didn't know were on your runner.

LOL that isn't that muddy either by Rocky Mountain standards Though, from your story and pics on how you got that mud, I think most of it is under your truck...

But on the body, that isn't too bad.

ya i went through one puddle and it was a little deeper then i thought. Plus i hit the hole pretty hard so the radiator and underneath was full of mud. fun times cleaning it all out.

If mud had nuts I would kick him square in balls! Ha no honestly mud stucks stay away from that stuff. I found some red dirt and went playing in it now every time I wash it there's red water coming out of every little crack. It has also ruined one of my trucks and a buddys. Be careful that stuff is easy to get addicted to but will mess your runners life up!

Heres a pic of my sway bar links the left one is good but the right the thread must be messed up so the nut loosens a little until it begins to click.

Take a set of vice grips and grab on the other side of the nut, that should hold it still where you can get it loose.

Ya I tighten it often but i think the thread on the bolt is messed up so no matter what the nut wont hold too long.
