I Will update these lists as I go...

"PARTS TO AQUIRE LIST"

((1UZ-FE Engine, and wiring harness with ECU. basically everything that is bolted to or plugged into the engine or harness, including trans and anything bolted to or plugged into it. In other words, if it plugs into a thing, you take the thing, if it plugs into a connector, you unplug it. (this is where a donor car comes in handy, you can be sure you have all this stuff))
2" body lift
upper and lower oil pan, pick up tube, and windage tray from a 2UZ-FE
Idler bracket and pulley from a Tundra to replace the Hydraulic fan pump from the Lexus
electric fans and relays (pusher setup)

((from the Lexus auto trans) (pan, filter, valve body, solenoids, wiring and connectors, R-N-D shift switch, speed sensors, front pump, planetary gears, input shaft, torque convertor, bell housing) (use the wiring and connectors from the 4runner harness going to the trans temp sensor, and three transfer shift switches)) you may choose to shim your 1/2-2/3 accumulators when doing the trans swap stuff...
transmission cooler of your choice, I like the stacked plate ones.

"PARTS FABRICATED OR MODIFIED"

motor mounts fabricated 1/8 steel
steering joint lengthened by 2"
transmission linkage shortened by 2.5"
transfer case shifter lengthened by 3"
cross member mount 3/8 steel with 1/2 spacers
drive shafts -3" in rear +3" in front (will have shop do that)
exhaust cat delete or dump pipes, (I will make some up, but the shop will do most of the exhaust)

"ELECTRICAL INFO"
basically using the Lexus engine loom and everything it plugs into.
aside from the few main power relay circuits, you are left with four or five connectors that really want to plug into one another...
we simply have to identify each wire in each connector. then rearrange them so the right info goes to the right place.
I have done the pinouts for the Lexus connectors, I will post them up soon...
I'm working on the 4runner now.

Guess you guy's and gal's would like to see my progress so far...
Here's where I started.

Pulled out the perfectly running but tired supercharged 5VE...

that's a big hole, but I will need every millimeter of it! and then some...

I then got to work swapping a few parts of the SC400 1UZ...namely, the upper and lower oil pan, pick up tube and windage tray for 2UZ units... also swapped the hydraulic fan pump with an idler from a Tundra I think... I used the 4runner transmission with integrated transfer case, but I swapped the valve body, all the sensors, solenoids and wire connectors, the front pump, the planetary gears, the input shaft, the torque convertor, and the bell-housing from the Lexus.

This work was pretty straight forward, I had to drill a hole for the forward speed sensor from the Lexus harness, also had to take the wiring and connectors for the trans temp and 3 transfer position switches from the 4runner harness. The Lexus uses a third speed sensor mounted on the tail-shaft, so I'll have to use the 4runners wheel speed sensors for that reference.

So, next thing is to start test fitting the big chunk...

as I thought, this big dog needs every inch of space...but it fits...

here is the oil pan clearance...the 2UZ pan really helps with fitment into an IFS truck.

I had a spacer installed with my body lift, going to have to lose that in favor of an elongated steering joint to clear the exhaust.

I made a cardboard template for my motor mounts, I used 1/8 plate bent to the proper angles, then welded a gusset for strength.

I will have to make a bracket for the transfer case mount, shorten the auto shift linkage, lengthen the transfer case shifter, lengthen the steering joint thingy, and possibly modify the drive shafts...but that's for another day...stay tuned!

Consider me subscribed. I want to put one of these in an FJ62 so very very badly.

That would be sweet...You can find these in good shape for a reasonable price these days...I will be happy to answer any Questions and provide all research I've done regarding said swap for anyone who is interested...

Sadly, It has lived its life...It will get parted out, or sold as a roller. At least I will have it's heart alive and beating in the 4Runner...

That body for the SC400 is in immaculate shape. Someone else should be drooling over it.

Ever been repainted? My uncle's 94 SC400 looked great until the clear started peeling on him. He sold it for a IS-F, which he claims lacks the subtle refinement of the SC400. To each his own I guess.....

All new cars lack that suble refinement. Its all about the technology and features they can stuff in that little cab. Anyways the new IS-F's are awesome. ! I want to get one for the wife but she still just wants a new Double cab Tacoma.

Major props for attempting the swap! Hope it goes well ! If you don't mind me asking what do you plan on doing with supercharger ?

I will sell it here on T4R.org most likely...

I bought it here, so it's fitting it stays with the family so to speak.

I'm going to be watching this one very close. Feel free to go into as much detail as you want through the steps :bigok:

All cars have seemed to lose their soul. Even enthusiasts cars like the IS F.
