2.5" backspace?

I'm close to pulling the trigger on these:

I have a 2006 Limited and an Icon Stage 2 lift kit (3/2) that is going on this weekend. I'm not 100% sure what tire size to go with yet (probably 285/70, also thinking about a tall/thin tire for better rain performance), but I would like a wider stance, especially after the lift.

I have a Demello front bumper on the way and I'm not opposed to cutting/removing fenders to make things fit.

My main question is, is there any reason these wouldn't work? Too much stress on the bearings, steering resistance, etc.? It will be used 95% for daily driving and road trips, 5% for offroad parks and off-highway camping.

With 2.5" BS and -50 offset I'm sure you would accomplish just that...how wide you wanted, you didn't specify. But it will be wide that's for sure.

I'm not looking for it to be ridiculously wide, just flush with the fenders or maybe a hair wider. I'm hoping to be able to run it without the front sway bar and I was thinking a slightly wider stance would help reduce the body roll I'd get sans sway bar, without giving up articulation in the front.

Look for something around the 4" BS 0 to slight negative offset range, you should be slightly passed the fenders.

I went with the 0 offset and 4.5" back spacing on my set of 16" rims. I would think you would want the same set-up even for the 17" rims, but Summit should be able to confirm that for you.

And if you need to run any type of spacer - I needed the 1/4" spacer to clear my FJ Cruiser brake-assembly - you will need longer wheel studs for the front. I went through Hell and back getting that sorted out! I bought the ET 60deg style conical lugs, but they would not fit through the Pro Comp wheel holes. I then bought some non-ET 60deg conicals and another set of wheel studs for the front hubs, and that ended up being the ticket. The rear wheel studs on our rigs are 3/8" longer than the front (but still a .599 knurled shoulder), and you can pull them though with an air-tool and a stack of thick washers.

I am going to put together a build sheet real soon, but I thought I would share some of my perils in getting some after-market rims to fit my 4Runner. Sorry for stealing your thead... you will love them, though! :driving:
