Wanting to upgrade to some 2.5 coilovers and rears with ext res. Not much out there for 3rd gens { 2000 } talked to radflow, was a bit pricey for the coilovers, king will make me what ever i want but has a 4 to 6 week lead time.
My runner is more for going threw the desert and baja, at the same time i will swap out the uca's for something like total chaos, and do some reinforcements.
So please chime in for some advice on where to look. Right now i have sonoran steel 1.2, What valve profile will work with the lc coils ? or should i swap those out as well. For the coils, i was thinking a 600 lb spring. Front only has a light/crash bar, o real extra weight, i and i do not plan on adding anything.

Give a call over to ORW in temecula and ask for Aaron. Good guy with a good grasp on toyota prerunners. He has a 3rd gen pickup from what I remember that I thought was going to be raced in class 7. He works during the week except for Tuesdays. He should be able to give you some advise on a package deal with the proper valving or really close to it (951)326-2880.

Good luck :)

I'd also talk to DownSouthMotorsports. They carry all the major brands and can get you a good deal. I'd suggest some ICON's as well. You can get the extended travel and will work great out in the desert.

Better yet, give a call over to Brian with 4wheelunderground. He is a dealer for Radflo components. He can get some awesome pricing as well as help tune the shocks for you. He is a one man operation but does some really nice work and knows his shock tuning.

Thanxs for the reply's guys. This is what i was looking for. Kinda shocked that it is such a unicorn. Seems 2.5 coilovers with a res and 2.5 rears with a res and stem top should be a no brainer.

You can just get an adapter to run eyelet top and bottom. Dont let lack of stud at the top stop you from getting them. You can get the adapter from total chaos for sure. You may be able to get them from toytec lifts too as they sell them for the bilstein 5100's.

But then you wold be loosing travel from the shock.

Talked to the guy from toyota linked suspension, i think we shall do business when i get back from the baja 1000.

Glad to hear that you spoke with Brian and he is willling to help you out.

If you are looking at something more extreme I am sure he can build you an upper mount for the rear shocks that would allow for a longer shock.

we talked about maybe doing a complete coilover conversion for the rear. Front is just light racing upper arms and 2.5 coilovers with res, nothing too exciting, rear probably total chaos control arms and maybe ditch the factory coil, or keep the lc coils and use a 2.5 with res. ot sure yet, but will keep you informed. Brian was a nice guy and very helpful. This is my first runner, but am not new to the long travel and desert world.

Brian can make up some rear arms for way less than TC's kit. I would go that route personally. Keep the business with the little guys.

His rear coilover mounts are beautiful. The ones on the site are what I will be running in the rear when I swap to tons.

Give Icon Vehicle Dynmaics a look/call. I have their coil overs on the front and their 2.5 resis on the back..they work very well with OME 890 springs, they bolt right in, no adaptor (which will loosen over time, particularly if your run at speed a lot) I mostly run desert moderate speed stuff and they are a good company to work with. Good luck

Can the Light Racing UCA's handle the extended (mid-travel) coilovers? I was under the impression that with the traditional ball joint (vs. a spherical ball) that they wouldn't handle the extra droop well.

I'm also very interested in what you guys do in the rear. I'm currently running the SS 7.2 kit with OME 890s, and the shocks are way too soft. The icon resi shocks look nice, but are spendy. May be cheaper/better to just weld in a shock hoop and open up the options.

Personally i would stay away from light racing UCA's just because they may produce them much longer and you need to get the joint from them for your UCA'S. The light racing of today is not the same as it was before it sold. Buyer beware.
