Budget under 400 cdn willing to go 500 cdn if it makes sense.

If that's your budget I would recommend to just hold off until you save more money. I believe that in this area you won't want to be a penny pincher, just save some more cash and when you have enough then you can do it right.

If you get spacers you're just gonna wear out your previous suspension even more and then you'll be back to finding a new set up all over again. The 99 coils are a good option, but they're hard to find on CL or even if you find them, people usually have 200k miles on them and they're settled too low.

ok, you can't use another shock 'like the bilsteins but cheaper'... think of it this way... Coil overs have a specific valving, and it's the best 'dampening affect' out there... Bilsteins put that in a 'shock' form without the coilover cost... so essentially, bilstein's are THE cheapest coil over dampening affect you can get.

Cheaper shocks are just that... gas filled shocks... and dampening is roughly the same accrost the board... the feel between them is IF they were made for lighter or heavier vehicles, and that affects ride.

here's what I did for my 2inch lift.

$202 - I got THESE for 101 each... used my stock front coils and put it on perch 3/5

$160 - OME 906 coils for rear from wheelers sale

140 - I did tundra 5100 rear THESE

502 total (USD) (657.80 CDN)

so essentially I got a cheap fox/icon setup that's NOT valved for my truck and I think it's AMAZING. it's BETTER than I thought I'd get.
