FM antenna location?

I was only kidding. I got my start with a BF that served me well until I dropped it too many times (I had a tall antenna on it that made it super unstable when you set it down) and it went deaf on 2m. I do plan to buy a replacement at some point for a project I want to do but got an FT-65 as my go everywhere HT.

For the record I have an FTM-400 in my 2011. The only thing I would be careful of is not mounting the ham antenna too close the the FM antenna (mine's just on the other side of the hood).

As far as I know, the T4R FM antenna is in the windshield. When I get an in-dash mobile radio I'll probably put the antenna on the driver's side of the hood. The back tailgate is another option but you have to mount it so low it may not be as effective.

Friends have loaned me their Baofeng in the past and they worked okay, except the battery died without warning or signaling us it wasn't working. I missed an important transmission and went down the wrong road that day.

The Yaesu FT-70D hand held has a DC plug accessory I bought for constant charging in the car plus I bought a spare battery. And the settings can be cloned to a 2nd radio.

Antenna is in the cargo area side windows - normally mistaken for defroster wiring.

I can confirm this is correct. I have a Motorola APX radio installed and when I transmit with some freq it will rev the engine about 1000 RPM. Found another channel that when I keyed the mic I got an Error with the traction control, check engine light and the dash display said power limited and to see the dealer. Got home and had to clear all the error codes to get lights to go away.
Antenna is mounted on the driver side hood. Because of this I will likely be relocating the antenna to the rear to see if it helps the issue.

I run a Yaesu FT-857 in mine and no issues so far.
100W HF and 50W VHF/UHF with the antennas mounted on the cargo rails.
Quite a few countries so far while mobile, I can't wait for better propagation!
