20.2mpg (mixed) WITH a full length rack!

Just filled up for the week, 282.2 miles and 13.95 gallons. This would be what i call "spread out" city driving averaging 50-55, only 30 miles or so on an interstate the rest to and from work, errands, etc etc. 250k on the truck, only mods are a cherry bomb vortex and synthetic fluids. pretty excited since most have bad luck with racks and mpg. i tried explaining to my wife how exciting this is but she doesnt care lol, so i had to tell someone.

I was just joking with you. If anything I am envious of you! I've been getting between 15-17mpg.

I was too until I started paying super close attention to my scangauge. That thing rocks and really helps you dial in your driving habits.

How it would it it get shipped to NC?

How does it bolt to the roof?

Can you Stand on it?

Throw up a picture with a spare tire installed up there.

ive only seen 19mpg which i think is good for a 4wd since my 96 2wd never got this gas mileage nor did my 88 4wdv6 that one was like 16 or 17

i was stoked when i did the math, did it 3 times to make sure! my wifes 2wd doesnt get this mileage either, but her driving style, well, sucks hahaha. i drive like a granny but having the scangauge info is the cherry on top, i look at it more than i do my speedo. oh and i run mid-grade gas

I believe it. These 4Runners are most efficient when travelling around 45-55 mph from my experience. And I dont think baskets affect MPG's as much as everyone seems to think. I would get right around 20 when my truck was stock and had a Yakima basket on it. I even had a tank of 300 miles that got me 21.7 MPG a couple weeks ago in Montana, with a lift, 33's, basket 2 people and dogs in the car. Just depends how you drive it! Travelling 70-75 mph towing a drift boat, and having a bag on your basket sticking up 2 1/2 feet above the basket with a stiff head wind will net you 12.7 MPG I've found out though....
