ive been asking all over this forum, and still no answers. can the 20 inch rims on the limited handle 275/55 profile tires? Anyone know how wide they are. (most of the toyota rims are 7.5 inches wide i believe, and I ? if that would accomodate 275 wide tires). thanks

There are actually 2 tires which will fit. The rim size is 20x7 by the way. The first tire, which I recommend & installed on my Limited is the Continental CrossContact LX20 275-55-20. The manufacturer states that they fit a 7" rim width. The other is the General Grabber UHP 275-55-20.

I purchased these tires some time ago after researching possible alternatives for the stock tires. Consumer Reports rates these tires #1 in their Nov 2011 tire review (tied with the Michellin LTX M/S2 as the best overall SUV all-season tire). Tire Rack also rates them highly. Don't confuse these with the CrossContact LX tires that are not rated quite as well. They are not an offroad or winter tire. As mentioned, they have a 70k mile warranty and a 1 year road hazard warranty.

Since the diameter is about 0.3" larger and the circumference is about 1" longer than the OEM tires, the speedometer is off by roughly 1%. Insignificant especially considering that eventual wear will bring the speedometer reading ever closer to the factory calibration. There is no rubbing in either direction (forward/reverse, left/right). I purchased them from a Ford dealership where they match any advertised price including online.

There is a noticable improvement in handling with these tires. They are quieter and smoother than the OEM Bridgestones. Steering feedback is stiffer and less numb. The ride is more planted and solid. Braking and cornering are also improved. They are noted for the wet weather performance. No issues with balancing. I have not noticed any change in fuel economy although I seldom check mpg's. They are the single, biggest improvement in driving performance I have experienced.

Great review thanks, I am looking to replace my stock OEM tires and I like the stock wheel too, seeing as I do very little off roading and I had Conti's on my truck and thought they were great I'm getting some of these as soon as I can afford it.
Anyone wanna buy my stock tires...LOL

Would either of you be so kind to post a straight-on shot from the front/back to get an idea of the stance/width of the tire compared to stock 245s? It's still a 7" rim but I'm sure the 275s will look better, just perhaps not as beefy as say on an 8" rim.

Sure. I'm out of town but will post photos next week. The Conti's are about the same width as the OEM mudflaps. They would be wider on an 8" rim.

Yep, you found them, they are the Skitch line, and they do come in black.

Hey guys, thinking about swapping out my stock 20" for this in 18". No plans to do anything to the suspensions, yet. Will they fit/work?

18x9, 6 on 5.5 Bolt Pattern
Backspace = 4.75 in.
Max Load = 2200lbs
Finish = Flat Black
Hub Centric = No
Offset = -6mm
