20" Wheels

Thanks for the link Rossk. I could not find the 2010 4Runner listed on their site. I guess this is just a Toyota dealer and their prices are about the same as my local dealer.

I actually emailed them asking for the part numbers and price. They'll get the parts list up on their site eventually. Yes, that site is from a dealer in texas that just offers great prices.

Does anyone know of an online source for OEM Toyota wheels? Price through a Toyota dealer is very high and I want to see what other options are available. I'm still looking to trade my Limited 20's with stock SR5 17's if anyone wants to trade this week, but if not I may have to start from scratch. Thanks!

ASPEN.... Sent PM about possible trade.

Brand new 17's and tires available early March for 20's. I'll pay shop fee's to swap wheels. Meet within 300 miles of Austin.

I just discovered yesterday when I washed my Limited for the first time (it's a week old but had so much mud on it that it was a two-tone color - silver/red clay), that all of my shiny new 20" wheels were scratched (sorry Brad!). I live nine miles back in the woods on a rough gravel county road that for the past couple of weeks has been covered with deep snow pack and clay/mud. I guess the snow/clay/mud has grit/gravel in it and the wheels spinning through this made the scratches. I suspect someone could buff out the scratches as they are not very deep, but I can see the scratches when I walk up to the vehicle without having to look too close. I was going to do a trade with these wheels straight-up for some 17s but certainly can't do that now with scratched wheels. So I am buying a set of 17s from one of our members here.

That means I'll have the 20's for sale, slightly scratched but still almost brand new, if anyone wants to make an offer on them - again I suspect you could buff out the scratches but I don't have any experience in this and don't want to do more harm than good. If anyone is interested, these will be available next Friday (the 26th) and I'm happy to ship them. I will also have the new tires available then but they won't be mounted (I'm moving the TPMS sensors from the 20s to the 17s so those would not be included).

For those of you who have changed from 20" to 17", have you noticed any difference in ride quality or "road feel"?

I drove 500 miles on 17's, 1,200 miles on 20's. 17's had 2 times more bounce side to side over little bumps. Handling was better on 20's, gripped rather then slipped on very sharp turns. Stopping was the same. Acceleration about the same. Only noticeable difference was over bumps and sharp turns. The 20's still have lots of sidewall so they still bounce too just half as much.

They make 275-55-20 tires for the 20x7 factory rim. Continental and General brand tires fit correctly. Spec says 7" will fit to manufactures spec. Didn't find any A/T tires for the 20x7 though. Just summer or snow.

the minimum rim width for 275 tire is 7.5 inches. If continental and general brand says that, i dont know if i would trust that. THen again their 275 tire must be slightly thinner than other name brand 275 tires . There is a reason why you dont put a bigger tire on a smaller rim.

as for the 17's, the E rated tires are actually quite stiff and the PSI is much higher, so the bounce you are talking about is actually eliminated going to these tires.

bump

Anyone want to get rid of those nasty 2010 20" rims that are so hard to find tires for let me know. Ive got new 17"s

SR5 should be here in about 2 weeks

Long time lurker first time poster. I will have a set of sr5 wheels and tires here (Houston area) in about 2 weeks, trying to find some Limited 20's and tires soon or gonna have to bite the bullet. I am willin' to drive up to 8 hrs., pay for reprogramming, and pay for swap. If anyone interested pm me. Thanks.

I just put on the 17" SR5 wheels today that Scotty sent me from the great white north, which means that I have a set of 20" limited wheels and tires available with about 900 miles on them (tires are the Bridgestones). The wheels got scratched up a little bit during a week of driving in deep mud and snow on gravel roads, so I'll be willing to sell them relatively cheap if anyone is interested (not sure of a price yet so I would consider any offers).
