That's a damn good price for a 2000. I live in Vancouver and frequently check Craigslist and they average around $12000 here even with 200,000kms. Of course, I'm looking for a 5spd so my choices are very limited. I do know a friend who is a mechanic and he has a 1998 4Runner that has under 100,000kms. He hardly drives it and only uses it for family trips and bad weather. Too bad it's auto, otherwise, I'd ask him if I could buy it.

Has the timing belt and WP been replaced yet? If not tell the owner he need to take off about $1000 for the upcoming maitenance. If the truck is relatively rust free and the OBDll scan pulls up no pending trouble codes go for it, why wouldn't you buy it?
If I can find a good deal on a newer 3rd Gen I would jump on it, I would love to find a newer Runner with half the miles.

Its really quite simple, if you have the money, and you like the truck and want it, then buy it. If it turns out that it was a bad deal and ends up being the biggest mistake of your life, well then at least you got that one outta the way and it should be clear sailing for you the rest of the way in 
Leather last so much longer and hold up to dogs why better, cleans up super easy. I never found it hot in the summer, a little hard cold in the winter but true leather warms up really fast - never heard a cow complain about being cold cause its wearing leather.

I find that a lot of peopl in the Vancouver area are unloading their 4Runners. Must be the gas prices. Like I said earlier, unfortunately for me, I want a 5spd and they are still hard to come by.
Just pay BCAA the $100 or whatever it is and if they say it's good, jump on it. That's a great price for that mileage.

Do all the fluid changes as a starting point, check the condition of your plugs/wires, change your filters, basically baseline everything.
The other thing you have to worry about with the original radiator is the "pink milkshake" failure. Your transmission cooler is integrated into the bottom of your radiator and the seal between them can break which mixed tranny fluid in your coolant and vice versa resulting in a thick pink mixture that can damage your transmission.
Many people have bypassed their stock tranny cooler with a external B&M filter. Check out the 3rd Gen Tutorial & Documentation by ksroqclimber for many sources of information on this. Pretty easy job, and good protection against pink milkshake failure.

So the seller took the truck to Kal-Tire and got it checked out. Everything looked good and I'll get the original report when I go over to buy. Only thing that needed replacing were windshield wipers. Tires were at 65%, but I was going to buy bigger rubber anyways 
.
