Hellloooooo,
I just purchased a 2000 4Runner Limited v6 4x4. It's a Christmas gift for my wife who has always loved 3rd gens. It's in great shape inside and out except for the missing door trim, rear bumper ends, and fender flares. I am trying to order those and have them installed before christmas! It's gonna be a challenge. Anyone know of a good place to order body parts from? Oh, and it's missing the carpeting on the inerior. The previous owner was trying to change it into some kind of dooms day vehicle or something LOL. It's got sweet BFG mud terrains on (still under Discount Tire warranty) which make a bunch of road noise. The lack of carpet magnifies that quite a lot I imagine.
So, that's my intro! Can someone give me advise on what I need to check or fluids I need to change prior to letting my wife use it as a daily driver? Perhaps timing chain, front and rear fluids, tranny fluid, power steering pump (makes a lot of noise when cold), water pump, plugs...I dunno?
The 4X4 mode engages flawlesly and all electrics work as well. AC/Heater seem to be fine too. I checked the undercarriage and there is no sign of abuse whatsoever. I picked this thing up for $2400 bucks which is a smoking deal in my opinion considering the cosmetic issues. Body is in stellar shape with a few scratches on the hood. I will try to upload some pics soon.
