2000 Limited - Daytime running lights got to go

Okay, I'm all for DTRL's but only if they can be switched off when it's obvious they are overkill. I did a search and saw someone mention that they can be deactivated on 2000 models by unplugging something on the fender by the battery. I looked down there and I see something that seems to be covered by a black plastic vented box and then there is a grey plug down beside that. Are either of these what I need to unplug to disable the DTRL's?

It's a little dark but that looks to be it. Disconnect it and you should have control of the lights.

Haha, what looks to be it? Is it the grey plug, or whatever is inside that black vented cover?

Find and remove/unplug that

yeah just unplug the gray connector no need to remove the whole module but thats up to you. i just masked the ends off with a couple layers of duct tape.

What's the secret to getting this connector unplugged. Squeeze one end, or pry something open? Tight squeeze and I don't want to break anything. Guess I could take the battery out first.
