2000 Limited rough idle when AC compressor kicks on

Well the title pretty much describes the issue. I looked at buying a 2000 limited tonight with 216k miles. Had a few issues I am trying to gain some insight on. Will do pre-purchase inspection but for the time being I can’t find any info about the issue above.

I went to start the car but it wouldn’t turn over. A few attempts later it was slow to start. May be a weak battery, plugs, wires, injectors etc…. Once I got it started, it had a rough idle. Very similar to a single cylinder misfiring. It would largely go away but when the AC compressor kicked on, the rpms would go up about 200rpms and the car would start idling rough again. Wouldn’t do this while driving, just parked or atleast I didn’t notice it while driving. Thoughts?

No worries. Just looking for ideas. Just curious the link between a rough idle and ac compressor.

No CELs that I know of and I didn’t have a scanner with me. It’s been taken care of with OEM parts but the owner has only had it for 11k miles and looking to sell which is somewhat of a red flag for me. But if the problems are manageable then might be a good deal if the price is right. I will do a pre purchase inspection at local yota dealer if I decide to move forward.

Clogged IAC valve located right under the throttle body. Eay to clean up but if it is clogged pretty bad, may take time to clean or better to locate a used unit. Looks like it may have several other issues, so bargain.. there might be ton of other issues.
