2000 SR5 Car Wash Antenna Nightmare

Started yelling at the dude at the car wash to not start the car wash machine. He yelled back, don't worry your antenna will just break off. My radio antenna broke off immediately on my 2000 SR5. Anyone know how I can get a replacement?

Power is just a mast replacement..Dealer should have it.

Sounds like the car wash owes you a new one. I just went to the dealership to get a tacoma whip mast when I swapped out my broken automatic antenna.

It was just your mast, correct? If not then you'll need the assembly as well and have to re-run your connection to the radio.

Have them order you a new one and have them replace it. That happened to me recently at the car wash I went to in the end (after getting it replaced) it was my fault but the owner was cool and didnt fuss about replacing it for me.

Just do what I did and delete the whole thing.

I use the diversity antenna in the back if I really have a pressing need to listen to crappy radio stations the old fashion way — maybe once or twice a year at most. Otherwise I just play everything (including radio stations) through my phone to my stereo via Bluetooth.

I don't miss having an antenna at all.

I just push mine down and it stays there lol. I hate the look of it. Never use the radio anyways

Think about double din radio with xm, route wire along back and up thru liftgate. Spent another $25 on internal fm antenna and $5 to plug the antenna hole. Sooooo much better!!!!!

I need the front antenna for AM for the traffic station, a necessity where I live every time I go out. Maybe Streetcreeper's phone solution also gets AM? I modded it by splicing into the blue wire in the antenna harness under the cigarette lighter and will put a switch on it. That way it freezes the antenna in whatever position you want, up, down or in between which means the antenna will last way longer and you can keep it down unless you actually need it for AM radio. FM works fine without it up.

might want to look into the taco whip mod. its super easy.

Another vote for the taco whip. One of the first mods most new 3rd gen owners do after the standard tune up parts.
