I appreciate anyone who takes the time to read and replies that knows the ins and outs of the Clutch. :loco:
I have a 2000 T4R with V6 and 5spd. I had the clutch replaced 3 years ago at about 100k not because the clutch was bad but had a rear main seal leak so I had them do the clutch once they pulled the tranny.
Now 3 years later and about 30k miles my throwout bearing is clicking (chirping, like one finger is touching the throwout bearing on every rotation of the engine) when the clutch pedal is out, it does it whether the truck is moving or not, in gear or not. The only time it goes away is as soon as I start to press in the clutch.
One thought I had was maybe the clutch pushrod needed to be adjusted. This would make sense if you are suppose to adjust the pushrod in enough to cause the throwout bearing to just barely engage the pressure plate then no clicking but that also means the throwout bearing is always touching the pressure plate fingers and therefore turning all the time, does this make sense? I also replaced this weekend the master and slave cylinder on the clutch but nothing changed since I put the rod back in the same position as the old one. Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I have read and re-read the clutch pedal adjustment procedure and it is up to interpretation as they say adjust the rod until you feel resistance well it will always have resistance as the master and slave both have springs in them, and are always pushing out. do they mean resistance from the throwout bearing engaging the pressure plate fingers? I am just fearful of adjusting the rod length until the throwout bearing touches the fingers and then wiping the bearing because it will always be turning.
Thoughts? Any Tranny/Clutch specialists out there that can answer this?
