Hello fellow 4runner enthusiasts. Can someone explain to me on how to get my actuator back together? My 4wd dash lights were flashing so my mechanic checked the sensors on my 4 runner which are confirmed to be in good working order.after that he pulled the actuator cover off to check the contacts behind the cover which by the way is corroded terribly. While pulling the cover off the gear the assembly fell from the housing and separated. He was able to put everything back together but now the timing is off, my problem is that I cannot get the gear to sync , my 4 runner will engage into 4wd but will not release as before my mechanic started to tinker my vehicle would be in 2wd and would not engage into 4wd. Also my 4wd light indicator used to flash while in 4wd and go off in 2wd but now just flashes all the time.

Are you speaking of the 4WD actuator switch on the top of the front diff? Not a whole lot of tinkering to be done with that. Don't use an off-brand one. I'll dig up the part # for ya if ya need it -

No not the switches they are fine I checked them with a voltage meter, I'm speaking of the plastic cover on the actuator
