2002 Charcoal canister removal issues

I'm having a hell of a time getting the damn thing out. Rust galore, for starters. But I managed to get the three bolts undone. The assembly still won't budge. Not sure if it's rust, or a bolt I'm missing.

I've got the two obvious bolts on the back side. Up where all the hoses are connected there was one more. I looked all around that end and didn't see any others, but it's not moving.

Assuming I get it free, then what's the typical way to disconnect the hoses? I messed around with them at the canister, but that seems near impossible while it's up there in place. Is it better to follow the lines down and disconnect from the other end, then just pull the whole mess out?

There are 4 screws total holding it on. The rear of the canister has 2 screws. There's another one in the middle on the driver side, and the last one is located on the very front of the mount. The front screw is located just in front of the cross member that's directly above the axle.

I'd recommend disconnecting everything while it's still mounted. Or at least that's how I did it a couple months ago.

1- There are a couple 10mm head bolts holding the canister to the bracket- did you take those out? I think the bolts that hold the bracket to the body are 12mm head bolts, but you might have to take the smaller bolts out- and drop the canister- to get to another mounting bracket bolt. I don't remember, but mine was easy to pull- it wasn't rusty at all either though.
2- The rubber hoses have hose clamps; the plastic hoses have rings that you squeeze to release the clip.

So I got the two on the left of the pic, the metal arms sticking out to the sides of the canister. The metal plate on the right side of the canister, I got the one sticking out the side, right in front of the valve. Is the fourth one up and to the right of that, near where the three hoses are sticking out to the right?

I'm pulling it because I have the EVAP code, and I want to check the canister for cracks. Seal it up if needed, and check the valve.

The fourth screw is exactly where I mentioned. Look up just in front of the cross member, and you'll see it. It's directly in between the brake line, and the wire loom.

What code are you getting? A lot of the time a new gas cap will take care of it.

Already did the new gas cap.

It's all three EVAP codes. I reset, it stays off for a few days then comes back. Usually just the 440 code I think, but sometimes the others as well.

How's your rust? You could be getting a vacuum leak from the filler neck too.

I replaced the canister, and it fixed my issue.

Rust is somewhere between OMG and WTF.

Hehe. The frame is ok, but the cross beams, or sub frames, are getting bad and the smaller bits are toast. I've been going over it for winter, sanding and wire wheel on the worst of it. Then hit it with some rust converter followed by Rust-Oleum paint.

So yeah, the filler neck is a possibility.

No, I don't smell gas when filling up or driving. I think whatever my leak is that it's minor. Just enough to throw a code.
