2002 Operation Blackout

Great thread! I love all of the detailed information. Subscribed for access when I have time to modify my own vehicle. . .

Got my splash guards in and on today ... I did the Highland Contra mod from Speedy'sProject SportRunner ... came out great ... Since its rained everyday for the past week, and will continue to for the next week, I expect this to help a lot with all the crap getting thrown up on my doors!

Now to install the new Ventvisor the car wash ripped off ... I had to buy a whole set just for that one stupid piece. :wtf: If anyone needs the other pieces let me know I will get them to you (for a small fee of course). Maybe it will save someone $50 for a whole new set ... lets say ... $10 a piece?

which vent visor did you replace? my passenger side is broken, but all others are good..

Looks great! Maybe this would fit in well with your ride? That license plate is so white!

Ordered ... Thanks for the suggestion!

I also pulled the trigger and ordered the Anthracite Grey Plasti dip for my wheels ... I know .. I know ... Plasti Dip blah blah this ... not durable .. paint them instead ... I know it won't last forever but hopefully I can get a minute out of them. Im looking at getting new wheels and tires in the near future anyways and I don't want to take the time right now to paint them ...

Does anyone have the PlastiDip in Anthracite Grey? PICS!!!!

WHEELS DONE! I went with the Anthracite Grey (5 coats) and the Glossifier (3 coats). I couldn't be more happy with the finish and the color. I ordered the kit from DYC that came with 4 cans of Anthracite and 3 cans of Glossifier. I ended up barely using the last can of Grey and only two cans of gloss. My coats (with the exception of the first) were all wet coats to get a smooth glossy finish, so they were all pretty thick. Other than masking everything with a plastic bag behind the wheel I didn't tape or anything. I was sure to get some CarPro PERL on the tires before and in some places it peeled up without me touching it, came off super easy!

Looks great! I did the exact same with mine, but I took the tire off, laid it on the ground, and then put note cards between the wheel and tire and sprayed away.

Yea I thought about it but I trusted my tire shine to get it to release plus I felt like I got around the lip better ... Probably a negligible difference but ...

Just gave her a bath ...

Bumper and backup lights next ... Then SATOSHI!

Picked these up off of a brand new 16' Tacoma ... needed new tires but got the whole deal less than I could put new rubber on. Very pleased.

Had a baby, lost track of time, just an update on how the bedliner had held up: That stuff takes a beating, no chips or cracks but it's time to spray a fresh coat on after nearly three years to make it black again.

I will be tackling that this week a little at a time, definitely not removing anything this time. I will mask off and spray.

I did hit it with several coats of wax after clay and polishing this weekend. I'm still shocked at how well these things hold up. 140xxx down ... 240xxx to go ...

Tail light guards

Been looking for a pair of these for 2 years, not sure why but I like them. Ran up on these on eBay auction and won them for $20 shipped. Sanded them and hit them with the bedliner I used for the trim but did use a clear coat (3coats of each). It's time to repaint the trim after 2 years, this time I will clear coat it to see if I can get it to last longer but I think over two years is a good stretch.

Time for Raptor liner!

Time for a good sand and a little Raptor liner on the previously bedlined fenders/bumpers. Any experience with this stuff? I figured a good sand and spray with a high PSI would give me a solid finish. I have plenty left over from a bedliner job.

The license plate cover. That’s just asking to be pulled over. Especially when it’s tinted. A good stupid reason for cop to pull you over.
