2002 tweeter replacment

Can anyone tell me if the sail mounted tweeters can be easily replaced with after market models and still use the factory sail cover? Thinking about a new set for front doors that has a cross-over unit.

I've done a search before and I don't think there are any direct replacements for the tweeter without doing some modifications. How much, I am unsure of. I'm sure someone with more knowledge and info will chime in.

Most definitely, but it may require some slight modification.

I've done two installs, one on my '97 and and my '02 with minimal issues. The aftermarket tweeters sometimes have a fancy pants cover/grill. If you just pop it off it should fit nicely in the stock sail location.

modified my tweeter covers to fit my Type X pro Tweeters. they are significantly bigger than the oem ones.

Thanks. How are the tweeters mounted in the factory mount? Are they screwed in or have some type of bracket that holds them in?

I mounted mine with a lot of plastic cutting and some thick 3M mounting tape and a glue gun (optional).

I am running Infinity Kappa tweeters. You may need to remove the plastic shell that the tweeter comes with.
