2003+ 4runner 5.5" inch lift w xreas

trying out new lift kit on the 4runners. 3 inch cornfed spring spacer and 2.5 inch upper strut mount spacer from extremetrucktoys.com for an fj cruiser totals to 5.5inch front and 3 inch rear.

i already had the cornfed installed for a few months running some 285 70 17 revo and pxa 1069 17 x 9 wheels w/ 4.75 backspacing. i was looking for more clearance on the front and found that the 2.5inch front leveling kit for the fj cruiser fit the top of the strut on the 4runners. believe it or not there is enough clearance for the xreas rubber hose on the bottom of the shock/strut and all the brake lines and abs harness with both kits installed. after all that's been done, the t4r now has a prerunner stance to it with the front end looking about an inch higher than the back.

To post multiple pics you have to host them somewhere else and use the IMG button. After you host your pic somewhere else get the link to that pic. Hit the IMG button and paste that link in the box that pops up. Then repeat the process for as many pics as you want in your post.

Did you end up doing a front diff. drop to compensate for that front lift? Also, how are your stock UCA's holding up with the extra clearance?

no diff drop, i'm running a 2wd (sad huh?) the UCA seems to be ok for now, the inside of the UCA seem to rub a bit on the spring if the suspension is at full sag. i was thinkin about getting some new UCA's, but i dont know where.

Here is the catch - 2WD. You wouldn't be able to do it with 4WD. Front driveshafts wouldn't allow that much of the lift. 3.5" is the maximum you can have with 4WD. You may go with 4", but that will be at the limit. That's why most lift kits for 4WD have 3".
Sorry, that's was a little off-topic.
I really like what have you done to your truck. I do also like to see people experimenting; I do it too, so I can understand what efforts sometime takes to get things in the way you like.

ALEXJET... what about a diff drop kit? i think they offer a 1 inch bolts and spacers diff drop. would that be enough for a 4wd? or not? i'm only asking because i have a frind that just bought an FJ 4wd and he wants to put the same kits i have on his.

I was thinking of diff drop for my truck, so I shopped around and talk to many people. The front diff on the 4Runner is positioned in a such way that 1" diff drop kit offered by ToyTec wouldn't do anything noticeable. It will lowered the lower point of the diff by 1", but lower the shafts less then 1/2", so no big gain. Basically drop kit will rotate the diff, nit lowering it. I wouldn't go for it.
Best bet for your friend is OME if he doesn't want to spend a lot of $$ or Donahoe coilovers and Deaver rear coils with Donahoe rear shocks; this will at least doubles the price of OME. It's all depend of what kind of wheeling he wants. Fast desert runs - DR; rocks or any other off-roading - OME. I have OME and I more then happy with it, it cost me less then $1000 for the set + installation.

after lifting my buddy's fj cruiser i looked at his stock rear springs and found that they were beefier than the oem t4r i had to use with the cornfed lift. so after work today i took off my rear springs and matched them up with the fj's, and... i was right.. the fj has 7 total coils and the t4r has 6. by what i've heard, more coils = less compression/stiffer spring rate. right???

so after all that's said and done i guess it worked out right. now the rears are a bit higher than the front and the ride is a little stiffer. (which doesn't really matter to me) but hey check it out let me know what you guys think.

Coils. Not exactly. In most cases more coils = bigger rate, but not always. It all depend on the material and how they coil it. In your case I think more coils are a bigger rate, because both coils are from Toyota and I'm pretty sure that Toyota uses one manufacture for both vehicles.
This kit might work on 4Runner as well, but it is still spacer lift. I used to have spacers and I'm happier with shock/coils lift then with a spacers. This is just my personal opinion and some people do find spacers more then enough for their needs.
