2003 air conditioning issue

For the past few years my a/c wouldn't work for the first week or so after not being used all winter. Last spring I took in to a dealer. I'm not sure what all they checked but they did recharge the system and it worked great all year. Again this year, same problem. I've run it for a couple weeks, off and on and no cold air. Can this be something other than needing another charge.
