2003 SR5 parts needed please!

Hello,

First off im new here and love the site and all the different looks of the 4Runners here.

I have a 2003 4Runner SR5 and im looking to get some upgrades on her.

1. headlights assy: in good shape. The plastice on mine are sunfaded..looks like crap
2. The right rear side fairing cover of the roof rack is now M.I.A.(black) I think the car wash took it. Needs to be replaced.
3. I need a new stereo but not sure which is best for this 4Runner..Im still runnin stock and the speaker upgrade will be great too.
4. I need the lights for the temp. up and down display. Its the center knob. Left know air flow pressure, right is direction of airflow for the A/C

try meguiars plastix on your headlights. its a plastic polish. i've used this stuff a lot and it will bring back gloss to any faded plastic headlight lens.

I tried it actually and the plastic is discolored and is now textured and very rough. The plastic is damaged from the sun not just faded. Sorry, i should have mentioned that. thansk again Rick

1) For your headlights, you may need to wet sand them. I used Wolfgang's headlight/plastic restoration kit on my other car that's lightly discolored.

Since yours sounds pretty bad, I would start wet sand with 1000 or 2000 grit sandpaper and then follow up with 3000, and then polishing pad and compound from the Wolfgang restoration kit. The kit also comes with plastic sealant, which I would recommending applying.

It will be frosty white at first with wet sanding, as you step up with finer paper it'll get more clear. During polishing is when it'll clear up.

Alternatively, once you get the lens clear again and restored, you may want to apply a clear film bra over the lens to protect it from chips and UV beating.

2) 63493-35021 should be the part number for the roof rack cover. Partznet.com, one of the forum's sponsors has pretty good prices.

3) If you're going for navigation, Eclipse units are fully plug and play with Toyotas. No wiring harness is needed and the steering wheel controls are retained. If you don't need navigation, Scion headunits are a popular option among members.

4) 90010-09015 is the part number for the light in the climate control buttons. The light is the same for all three knobs (one for each knob) for SR5 and Sport Edition 4Runners. The trip computer light is 90010-09017 (2 of them) for the LCD display. 90010-09018 is the light for the Mode and Reset button for the trip computer backlight.

This is a great kit to completely fix your faded/oxidized headlight lenses. It comes with everything you need (except a drill) to wet sand and polish your lenses until they look brand new.

Does the meguiars work well for making the black plastic wing mirror cases look good? (2006 SR5 type).

Are they still black or it's some what faded and a bit gray? If they are, you can try Mother's Back to Black.

If they're in like new condition, I use 303 Areospace on the black trim like the bumper pad, the B-pillars on the door and on the black mirrors on my Tacoma. 303 gives it the darker and deeper black and it looks waxed for a few weeks after application.

Thanks So Freakin much....you're the man....Okay! i need one other thing now. I just so happen to lose one of my keys and remotes to the 4Runner. im in italy US Air Foce stationed here and can't just go to a local stealership and get a new one. How do i go about getting one and having it programed to the 4 runner? Thanks Rick

The former - luckily enough - though certainly not as black as the door pillars i would say. I just want to be able to keep them looking good (particularly as the truck isn't garaged...oh well).

Thank you very much for the info - I'll give the Aerospace a whirl.

Now I just need to get the darn scuff marks off the hood (I think the former owner must have taken it through one of those stupid automatic carwashes). Oh yeah, and the coffee/coke stain off the front passenger seat (which was strategically located so that it looks like a shadow rather than a stain...gaaaa...oh well, hopefully a steam cleaner will get it out...and if not the new wet okole covers will cover it up!)

You should be able to get a new remote from Ebay, and the instructions for programing it are available on this site, do a search. As for the key, it has a transponder chip in it, and has to be programed by a dealer in order for it to work with your vehicle, no other way.

Where in Italy are you stationed? I was at Camp Darby in the early 70's with US Army.
