2003 V6 Transmission Leak

Hey everyone,

I have a cousin in WA with an '03 V6 that has 217K. Runs perfectly fine with no issues to speak of. However, since last year, he's noticed a small oil leak (no puddles on ground) from the transmission case on the driver's side. The concern is that the leak could possibly show its ugly face on a road trip, and with a few trips planned in summer, he wants to get this sorted out sooner than later.

It's hard to say exactly where and why it's leaking with all the buildup, he needs to get under there with a small wire brush and some brake cleaner and get it all clean and then he can monitor it to determine exactly where the leak is, the first step when troubleshooting a leak is knowing exactly where the leak is, then a plan can be made on how to fix it.

No one will be able to help here without knowing more info, since the leak could be from at least a couple of places if not more.
