2004-2009 Roof Rack Endcaps made of fiberglass

Hi All,

I found a seller on Ebay who makes these and for $100/4 i'd try them out.

They don't have the molded hooks like the oem does, i was wondering if anyone has tried anchoring something like this down.

Was thinking to use like some kind of mastic or electrical tape on the outside seam but wondering if something better i could apply on the inside that would adhere to it.

Silicone RTV sealant. I've used it to "glue" things that you might need to remove later before.

What about some overly powerful magnets. I would tend to overdo it as long as it wouldn't mess with any electronics so they dont come off. That way they could be removed easily too. I think when ive removed mine there were no stock items there but I know some people add GPS and sirius/ xm receivers there and I dont know if or how that may interfere. Thats beyond my expertise.

Is there even a difference between the '03 and '04-'09 roof racks? Maybe the seller never test-fitted an '03.

I did some snooping on the part numbers. Here's what I came up with. I'll add more info as I figure it out.

The odd 2003 rear date range might have something to with that part only being available as a single part during that time. Now what I am able to see is those covers are now only available when purchased with the rear crossbar (which seems asinine to me)

The attachment points to some 2003 replacement part numbers that might be relevant to someone somehow

I did some more snooping. I thought this was interesting.

This is the first time I've seen both numbers referenced in the same listing.
Maybe the 2003 and 2004 & up are indeed the same -- the only difference being that one of the part numbers is a kit/assembly containing the crossbars.
