2004 Lights

Lights are looking pretty weak. Was going to put in new bulbs but really don't want anything that looks blue or red. I just want to be able to see really well in the dark (odd I know).

Suggestions? Anyone use the Philips X-TremeVision 9006s?

for a conventional bulb this would be my vote: SilverStar® ULTRA

bought them for my wife's 2005 corolla low beams to replace her stock bulbs and she loves them. I drove it at night and I agreed it was a significant improvement.

I think the Philips are just PepBoys Silverstars. All of their marketing info says Super bright!* Awesome reach* Hotter than the sun* Blinds deer so they don't jump in front of your car* (* when compared to worn OEM bulbs) and so I'm just debating if its worth paying the extra for the bulb vs the low end stuff.

Also, what side of the state are you on? I've struggled to find dirt roads or areas to get the T4R dirty...
 
if you aren't afraid of slightly modifying the tabs, you can try HIR bulbs

I have an 04 also, which had the original stock halogens up until 2 months ago. I put the HIR bulbs in and it was a pretty huge difference.

It's a good option if you don't want to deal with HID projectors.

After reading the huge debate on silverstars and other similar marketing products, I avoided them. Some see a big difference, some don't. Many say they burn out pretty fast.

These HIR bulbs are quite a bit brighter than stock 9006's and are good enough for me.

state college currently, work in pittsburgh and grew up in the south hills of the burgh... PM me.. I know a few spots (maybe not real close to greensburg area though... within an hour). good luck with the lights... FWIW I kept my stock headlight bulbs and am augmenting them with rigid d2 driving lights in the spring... that way when I get a new vehicle I can just take off the d2's and re-use them without dumping money into a vehicle i'll never get out on resale... that's just me.. i always try to spend money on universal or removable items first so I can either sell or swap it over to the next vehicle when it happens...
 
I'd go the HIR route or Silverstars. I ran silverstars before swapping up to 06+ projectors and HIDs.

I'll be THAT guy, but PLEASE don't run HIDs in non-projector housings....

I have them aimed right so no problems.
However i do have 06 lights but i cant find the filler pieces
 
no amount of aaiming will make a hid light look good in a haalogen housing.... the physics doesnt aadd up.........just plaain wrong aand daangerous

lol, my pc got stuck a caps! :)
