Is the rear wiper blade a Toyota only replacement or can you buy the right one at an auto parts store. so far no luck for me!

I recall seeing the replacement vendor part number in several of the wiper replacement parts catalogs at Auto Zone. Whether they actually stock the part numbers listed, I have no idea.

Just get OEM

I don't even use my rear wiper...gotta love the rear spoiler to keep my rear glass clean & dry.

I think I paid around 4 bucks for the replacement rear rubber wiper rubber insert at my local dealer. Not a whole lot of money. Maybe that is one area my dealer doesn't charge so much so I really don't see a need to dig around at the local parts store.

FYI, the replacement rubber inserts can be bought at any auto parts store (sorry, I don't have a part #). The whole blade assembly, however, is Toyota OEM only because of the plastic nub that aligns the blade assembly with the mounting tab when not in use. You can only buy it at the dealer or online. FWIW, I think it costs $5-$10.

I tried replacing just the rubber insert, but it didn't do much good, I still got a lot of streaking. Replacing the whole wiper assembly fixed the problem though. I use my wiper a lot, esp. in the winter. The spoiler doesn't seem to do $hit...

K.C.: Out of curiosity, which spoiler do you have? hump-back or non-hump back?

Humped. He's got a '07. 2005-09 have the humped spoiler. The 2003-04 are flat.

It's a noticeable difference. I don't need the wiper on mine and when I'm in the Sierras I see folks without it using their rear wiper. The dirt/snow/salt/mud really shows where draft is and the area it clears.
