2004 V6 Acceleration issue

I just replaced my sparkplugs today and after i took it out for a drive the acceleration was very sluggish... is this a misfire? i made sure that the coils went back in correct and that they were in the exact same cylinder. Also i did not gap any plugs except 1 but then realized that they were already at the correct gapping size out of the box, could that 1 plug be causing this issue? Im very lost and have no clue what else to do. One other thing, i noticed that my old plugs were NGK AND Denso...is there a reason for them being mix matched?:redbrick:

They come mixed like that from the factory. Sorry can't help with the other issue, But typically plugs come properly gapped these days. I can tell you that I once disconnected 2 coils and it ran very rough; would think you'd notice if 1 cylinder wasn't firing at all.

Yes and no, it flashes only when the misfire is bad enough that it could damage the catalytic converters. It is entirely possible it might not be bad enough to damage the cats, but enough to cause poor performance; in which case the MIL would be illuminated solid because DTCs have been set. :beer:

Yeah, well no lights are flashing whatsoever, it starts and idles perfect, its just the acceleration thats sluggish, mainly at 30+mph

Wow...how many miles on your 4Runner? The 4th gen V6 came with Denso plugs on one side and NGK on the other side. So you probably had the original plugs in your '04, unless of course someone decided to go out and buy 3 of each spark plug, but who does that? LOL

Hmm... did you try putting the old plugs back in and seeing if it gets better? I have seen Bosch stuff cause misfires in Toyotas... They're really racist cars when it comes to German parts for some reason.
