I have a question about the right fluid level for the early non-sealed transmission. I actually have a dipstick to check my fluid. On the dipstick itself there are 4 marks. There's a min and max mark for checking hot and another pair of marks for cold.
My concern is that the marks are pretty far apart which would lead me to believe that the transmission is going to be fine anywhere between the two marks but I've read others saying that our transmissions were actually pretty picky about fill level.
I changed my fluid about 6 months ago. My fluid level is right in the middle of the min and max marks when I check it with the engine running and the fluid warmed up. Should I add some to bring it closer to the max mark?
