[2004Runner4x4]

New to the board, not Toyota's or 4unners. Just a little background: Back in 2005, I owned a '94 4Runner 4WD, loved it and that love transpired into me talking my dad into buying a 2006 4Runner. I totaled the '94, not my fault, before any money really went into it. After that I bought a '95 4Runner 4WD, lifted with 33's (pic in sig) LOVED that one. Eventually sold it and bought my current 2004. I've had this 2004 SR5 4WD since August 2009 and finally got around to adding to it and modifying it. This will be an ongoing and long thread when things are said and done and I plan on doing big things with this once I find a job in the real world, I'm a recent college grad, but for now I've only gotten a chance to put new wheels on, take running boards and mud flaps off, and do a couple very convenient and functional mods. Next up, 3/2 Cornfed/Toytec, or 2.5/1.5 Daystar with 265/75/16 BFG's.

Day 1:

June 2010:
16x8 American Racing Wheels powder coated Harley Davidson Black, thanks to a fellow 3rd gen owner, 32% Tint all the way around, Removed Mudflaps and Running Boards, and added TRD Off-Road Stickers.

Mods:

Maglite Addition:
There wasn't a very convenient place in near the driver seat to put it that didn't interfere with the seat adjustment or headroom so I went ahead and put it in the back.

Fog Light (Anytime) Mod:
It always bothered me that I couldn't have the fogs on at the same time as the parking/high beams. I did a little research, this site being the main/only contributor and found simple fixes to both and some perks. They now can be on with no other lights, parking lights, low beams and high beams. And still have the ability to be switched of at the stalk whenever needed. Great Mod!

Blacked out Emblems:

Full Time 12v Power Mod:
Full time Power Mod isn't really a picture mod except for a write up, which I failed to do but seeing as there is plenty of knowledge and thread on this site, there is no need for one here. Very helpful for a fridge or a dead cellphone.

Thanks! And no, I wish it was mine. It's my dad's 2006 Limited 4WD fully loaded. Huge luxury upgrade from mine but nothing a little money and time won't fix ha.

Was your grill, behind the front emblem, already white? Mine was black and I put some aluminum mesh behind it to make the black emblem stand out, otherwise it looked like I just didn't have an emblem... I like the way yours looks so much better I just took off my emblem & used touch up paint to make mine white like yours. Looks much better!

Hook up your lower rear lights - I did it back in 04 I think it's called "reflector mod"? Just the price of sockets & bulbs - rest is easy.

I really like the blacked out emblems. I am waiting to do that until I get a limited paint matched grill for mine though. Also, the mag light mod is really cool and put in a great spot. Looks great keep up the good work!

gaterose, I used Krylon white spray paint on it. I was gonna just black it out but noticed the same problem not being able to see the emblem so quick solution was to paint the black plastic white and i think it turned out well.

Thanks Colemanfu. I've been looking at that mod for a couple weeks now and really been contemplating on getting it started. Looks like I'll have something to do this week. The truck in the sig is my old 95. I loved that car, just too rusty for me to keep having to rely on it, so i had to get rid of her. And the boro is a great place. Too many great memories to try remember haha. GO EAGLES!

It's been a while since I've posted or even done anything worth posting. But I recently made some upgrades.

ToyTec 3" Black Anodized Spacers up front and 2" ToyTec coil springs in the Rear, with 285/75/16 Yokohama Geolander A/Ts. No rubbing what so ever, and it rides as good if not better than it did. Enjoy the pics.

Just got new headlights and tails from Burtman Industries. Both sets are black. Here's a few pics.

Next up should be sliders. Then I'll be taking a break from mods to finish off my student loans.

Been a while since I've been on the boards but I wanted to share something that I've been waiting since September 20th for. I finally received my Shrockworks front bumper!!!! It was 8 days shy of six months since the order went in. The customer service was great, but I could have used better time frames and more accurate shipping. Didn't receive any instruction sheets or the skid that "came" with. Although a couple calls later I had the instructions emailed to me and the skid was sent along with a tracking number emailed to me. So overall I'd give them a 3 out of 5 star. but 5 out of 5 on the product itself. Onto a couple pictures I just got to snap.

My plans are to get a CBI Rear bumper with tire swing away and all the other goodies they offer and to beef up the suspension all the way around.

Can i ask you how you installed your spacer kit? I was going to do the daystar 2.5/1.5 but was not able to get them to fit up front probably because i did not loosen the LCA. did you? Thanks

It was 8 days shy of six months since the order went in.

6 MONTHS !!!!! I was promised 3 Tops. I hope its not 6....or else im gonna go find a dark corner to cry in.

BTW: CBI rear bumper is Amazing. Best craftsmanship I have ever seen.

I tried messing with it, but with my schedule not very open, working almost everyday, I turned t over to the guys at 4wheelparts in Norcross fro a day and they did everything from installing front and rear lift to mount and balace of the tires for under 6 or so. Well worth it for me not to have to worry about it. It was $40 a tire alone to get mounted with the TPS.

Also, thanks guys, I love it so far, beat te rubbing I was getting form where my girlfriends roommate hit the front. I also got the missing skid in on Friday, so the install is complete. I'll post some pics up when I find time during my month long stay in Savannah for work.

Where about are you from? I live on the Snellville, Lawrenceville border. I'm in Savannah for a bit right now but I'll be back up there in May

Might want to space out your bumper from the body to give a little wiggle room for frame flex.

I have it about a half inch all the way around and a little more towards the bumper end and the fender on the pass side. I did the best I could around the light and the beginning of the fender on the pass. side, that area was pulled down and bent when my buddy hit that side of the original bumper. So it was either do my own body work or let it be. It was also a pain to move around. The mounting brackets didn't line up at all to it was forced in, and once it was in, there was little movement on the thing.
