Took the 4Runner (V6) into the dealer for a timing belt replacement, found out it has a chain which surprised me!
They did a basic curtsy check of all the systems (brakes, battery etc)
on my way home i noticed the speedo wasn't working, all the other gauges are working fine. drove the car back to the dealer and they spent 2 hrs troubling shooting it. The battery is very weak so they wanted to start with replacing it. They said most likely the speedo gauge is bad, $700 part + 2-3 hrs for replacement.
It's the wife's car, she's not excited about driving without a speedo (she likes to push the speed limit
). she now has a speedo app on her phone but...
Is this a coincidence?
